PERSONAL<br />

Jussi and his wife, Salla, spend their summers in Oulu, Finland… Jussi’s brother,<br />

Juho, is a defenseman for Karpat in the Finnish elite League… Jussi contributes to<br />

JHT Juniors in Kalajoki, and also provides assistance to allow kids at the hospital<br />

in Oulu to enjoy time away from their hospital rooms… He also donated $150<br />

for every assist and $300 for every goal to the Kids ’N Community Foundation<br />

last season… Jussi’s first hockey memory is scoring the game-winning goal in a<br />

shootout in the final game of a tournament when he was 8 years old, and he was<br />

childhood friends with <strong>Hurricanes</strong> defenseman Joni Pitkanen… His parents were<br />

the biggest influence on his career, and his favorite player growing up was Jaromir<br />

Jagr… His first job was working on his father’s potato farm… His favorite movie is<br />

beach soccer as his favorite activities outside of hockey… The most-played song<br />

on his iPod is “ei” by Maija Vilkkumaa… He enjoys watching american football<br />

and the person he would most like to meet is Barack Obama… His favorite food is<br />

sushi and his favorite vacation spot is the Caribbean… He says the thing he likes<br />

most about being in the <strong>NHL</strong> is the “opportunity to play against the best players in<br />

the world in the best league in the world”… The place he spends the most time in<br />

the Triangle is North Hills… His favorite former teammates are Mike Modano and<br />

Jere Lehtinen, his linemates in dallas… His favorite road arena is Bell Centre and<br />

favorite team to play against is Philadelphia.
