• <strong>Carolina</strong> wins its ninth straight game, marking the second nine-game win streak of the<br />

season and in franchise history. <strong>Carolina</strong> be<strong>com</strong>es just the fifth team in <strong>NHL</strong> history to post<br />

two win streaks of nine games or more in a single season – January 19, 2006.<br />

• <strong>Hurricanes</strong> win 8-2 at Montreal for their 13th win in January and be<strong>com</strong>e the seventh<br />

team in <strong>NHL</strong> history to win 13 games in a month – January 31, 2006.<br />

• <strong>Hurricanes</strong> clinch their third Southeast Division title with a 3-2 win against Florida.<br />

<strong>Carolina</strong> would go on to a 55-22-8 record, finishing second in the Eastern Conference and<br />
