SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
• NHL starts a reduced 48-game schedule after the NHL and NHLPA agree upon a new
collective bargaining agreement 10 days earlier – January 21, 1995.
• After Whalers’ captain Pat Verbeek is traded to the Rangers, the Whalers name
Adam Burt, Andrew Cassels and Glen Wesley as alternate captains – March 23, 1995.
• Whalers complete season with an increase in average attendance for the first time
since 1987-88 (12.8%).
• Whalers finish season with the NHL’s best overtime record (4-0-5) for the second
straight season.
