2010-11 SEASON<br />
Completed his sixth <strong>NHL</strong> season with the <strong>Hurricanes</strong>… Ranked first in the <strong>NHL</strong> in<br />
saves (2,191), games played (74) and minutes (4,318); tied for third in wins (37)<br />
and was ninth in save percentage (.923)… established a new franchise record for<br />
saves in a season, previously held by Sean Burke (1,844 in 1995-96)… Marked just<br />
the sixth time since the 2005-06 season, and the ninth time since the start of the<br />
1997-98 season, that an <strong>NHL</strong> goaltender stopped 2,000 shots in a season… Was<br />
selected by the <strong>Carolina</strong> chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers association<br />
as the team’s Most Valuable Player… Was chosen by his teammates as <strong>Carolina</strong>’s<br />
nominee for the King Clancy Trophy… The <strong>Hurricanes</strong> were 9-1-1 when he stopped<br />
40 or more shots… Lost just 19 of his last 58 outings in regulation (29-19-10)…<br />
Made 18 saves on 19 shots to earn his fifth consecutive road win with a 6-1<br />

is in his seventh <strong>NHL</strong> season with <strong>Carolina</strong>… Signed a six-year contract extension<br />
with the <strong>Hurricanes</strong> on Sept. 30, 2009, which began with the 2010-11 season and<br />
goes through the 2015-16 season… Represented Canada at the 2007 iiHF World<br />
Championship in Russia, leading his country to the gold medal, and the 2008 iiHF<br />
World Championship in Canada, earning silver… Was <strong>Carolina</strong>’s first-round pick<br />
(25th overall) in the 2002 <strong>NHL</strong> entry draft… 2001-02: Posted the top goalsagainst<br />
average in the Western Hockey League (WHL) at 2.27 and won the del<br />
Wilson Trophy as the WHL’s top goaltender… Was 30-11-4 with one shutout and a<br />

named Red deer’s rookie of the year and selected to the WHL’s eastern Conference<br />

Received the Vaughn Goaltender of the Year award as the top netminder in the<br />
entire Canadian Hockey League (CHL)… Was a runner-up to Sidney Crosby for the<br />
(1/28)… Stopped 23 of 25 shots in a 4-2 victory at NYi (1/26), passing arturs irbe<br />
(17,815) for first in franchise history in minutes played by a goaltender… Passed<br />
arturs irbe (309) for first in franchise history in games played on 11/17 at BOS…<br />
Named first star for the second consecutive night, stopping all 37 Senators shots<br />
in a 4-0 shutout win at OTT (<strong>12</strong>/29)… Named first star of the game with 34<br />
saves at TOR (<strong>12</strong>/28)… Played his 300th <strong>NHL</strong> game, stopping 26 of 29 shots vs.<br />
MTL (<strong>12</strong>/23)… With wins at aTL (<strong>12</strong>/16) and vs. aNa (<strong>12</strong>/18), became the first<br />
<strong>Hurricanes</strong> goalie to have more than 40 saves in consecutive wins since Sean<br />
Burke on Jan. 20-Jan. 22, 1997… Stopped 43 of 45 shots in a 4-2 victory vs.<br />
aNa (<strong>12</strong>/18)… Made 45 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped two of<br />
three shootout attempts to earn the win at aTL (<strong>12</strong>/16)… Stopped 38 of 39 shots<br />
in regulation and overtime and all three shots in the shootout in a 2-1 win at STL<br />
(<strong>12</strong>/11)… Recorded his first shutout since april 7, 2009, with 37 saves at BOS<br />
(11/26)… Stopped 40 shots in a 4-3 win at NYR (10/29)… Stopped 41 shots in<br />
a 5-2 victory at SJ (10/19)… Made 41 saves in regulation and overtime, did not<br />
allow a goal in the shootout and was named first star vs. MiN (10/8)… Stopped 26<br />
of 29 shots to earn the win against MiN (10/7) in the first game of the 2010 <strong>NHL</strong><br />
Premiere in Helsinki… Served as backup and did not play for eight games (10/20,<br />
11/1, 11/19, 11/24, <strong>12</strong>/20, 1/7-1/9, 3/4).<br />

netminders… Recorded a 1.99 goals-against average, ranking fourth in the aHL<br />
and second among aHL goaltenders playing in 50 or more games… Started all 11<br />
of Lowell’s playoff games… Holds the Lock Monsters career records for playoff<br />
wins (5), shutouts (2) and goals-against average (2.53)… Posted a 1.33 goalsagainst<br />
average and stopped 98 of 102 shots in Games 4, 5 and 6 to help the Lock<br />
Monsters to their 4-2 playoff series win against Hartford… 2005-06: Completed<br />
his first <strong>NHL</strong> season, going 14-8-2 with a 3.68 goals-against average in 28 games<br />
with <strong>Carolina</strong>… in a two-game conditioning stint with Lowell (aHL), he posted a<br />
2.54 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage… earned his first <strong>NHL</strong><br />
assist on Staal’s power-play goal at PHX (<strong>12</strong>/3)… Started the game at WSH (10/22)<br />
and stopped one shot in 3:48 of play before leaving the game with an arm injury…<br />
Martin Gerber <strong>com</strong>pleted the game, marking the first time in franchise history that<br />
two netminders have <strong>com</strong>bined for a shutout… Stopped 26 of 28 shots to earn his<br />
first regulation win vs. WSH (10/<strong>12</strong>)… Made his first <strong>NHL</strong> start and earned his first<br />
<strong>NHL</strong> win with a shootout victory vs. PiT (10/7)… Stopped 28 of 30 shots during<br />
game play before thwarting Mario Lemieux, Zigmund Palffy and Sidney Crosby on<br />
consecutive penalty shots to earn the win… it was the first shootout in franchise<br />
