Enclosures shall be weather pro<strong>of</strong>ed and shall <strong>for</strong> wind loading <strong>of</strong> 100<br />

miles/ hour.<br />

Enclosures shall be designed to permit easy accessibility to the equipment<br />

and to provide necessary protection <strong>for</strong> maintenance personnel. Sound<br />

absorbing insulation shall be provided on the enclosures, Enclosures shall<br />

be provided with walkways, steps, strains, and equipment doors <strong>of</strong> the<br />

locking type.<br />

Enclosure insulation, ventilation, and cooling shall be provided to maintain<br />

temperatures suitable <strong>for</strong> personnel and <strong>for</strong> all systems whether standby or<br />

operating. <strong>Unit</strong> control rooms shall be ventilated and air-conditioned.<br />

Turbine compartment and generator compartment shall be adequately<br />

ventilated utilising <strong>for</strong>ced ventilation with louvers and bug screens as<br />

required <strong>for</strong> protection <strong>of</strong> the houses equipment from outdoor<br />

environmental conditions.<br />

Adequate interior lighting shall be provided, and emergency DC lighting<br />

shall also be provided, and those shall be energised through an automatic<br />

throw over contractor when AC source fails.<br />

Enclosures shall be provided with 240 volt AC service outlets.<br />

The noise level at 1 (one) meter distance will not be more than 85 dB and<br />

less than 65 dB at 100 meters.<br />

4.3.2.13 Fire Protection Equipment<br />

The entire gas turbine generating unit including all auxiliary compartment<br />

shall be automatically protected from fire with complete fire protection<br />

system complete with C0 2 gas system, fire detectors, pipeworks, control<br />

and safety device. Actuation <strong>of</strong> the fire protection system shall be indicated<br />

at the control compartment and by a visual and an audible alarm to warn<br />

any personnel in the compartments.<br />

4.3.2.14 Casing Design<br />

The casings <strong>of</strong> all the rotary parts on the main unit shall be spilt horizontally<br />

<strong>for</strong> easy dismantling and inspection. Lugs <strong>for</strong> lifting the upper casing shall<br />

be provided at points which will lift the casing half well balanced. Complete<br />

lifting gear together with lifting drawing and instruction shall be furnished.<br />

4.3.2.15 Insulation and Lagging<br />

Thermal insulation shall be provided where necessary and is to include<br />

such parts as the combustion chambers, exhaust ducts and hoods.<br />

Removable insulation blankets shall be provided in all parts where<br />

insulation must be removed <strong>for</strong> maintenance purposes.<br />
