Description
Graphics Processing Unit. A dedicated microprocessor
for computer graphics.
Basically a gradient field is a field which modulates
a constant field B so that the magnetic
flux density is lowered in one direction and
raised in the opposite direction. The effect of
a gradient field in NMR is that the Larmor
frequency for magnetized matter is changed
depending on the slope of the gradient. In
Example a gradient is used to select a certain
slice of a Volume. Applying a RF-pulse
with concurrently switched on gradient in z-
direction will only excite that slice for which
the resonance condition is fulfilled.
A Hermitian signal is symmetric and can be
transformed to a Signal with Im = 0 with
the inverse flourier transformation. The latter
one is only one of the benefits of a Hermitian
signal.

Iso-Surface
