LINEAR FUNCTIONS are just LINEAR EQUATIONS written using FUNCTION<br />

NOTATION.<br />

f(x) = mx + b means the same thing as y = mx + b but the notation is slightly different.<br />

AVERAGE RATE of CHANGE means the same thing as SLOPE.<br />

Data sets that have a constant average rate of change (or we can say, constant rate of<br />

change), can best be modeled by LINEAR FUNCTIONS.<br />
