Division<br />
pose is to actively collect, evaluate, collate, analyze and disseminate detailed, relevant source information<br />
concerning drug organizations.<br />
• Serves as the state liaison for INTERPOL information and investigations.<br />
• Participates in the Amber Alert Program, an early warning system to help find missing children.<br />
• Serves as the statewide clearinghouse for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children<br />
(NMMEC), a program designed to proved research, support and referral assistance to jurisdictional<br />
agencies in the pursuit <strong>of</strong> missing person investigations.<br />
• Serves as the state liaison for the FBI Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) a national<br />
on-line repository for violent crimes. Provides consultation, query and de-confliction services to<br />
criminal justice agencies investigating violent crime cases.<br />
• Houses the <strong>Arizona</strong> Fraudulent Identification Task Force (AFIT), a multi-agency unit mandated by<br />
the Governor’s Office to investigate fraudulent documents used in identity theft.<br />
Weapons <strong>of</strong> Mass Destruction/Hazardous Materials Unit<br />
• Responds statewide on a 24-hour basis to WMD hazardous materials incidents.<br />
• Protects life, property and environment by coordinating the mitigation <strong>of</strong> emergencies pertaining to<br />
hazardous materials.<br />
• Works in concert with industry, the public and other agencies to achieve the goal <strong>of</strong> a safely-controlled<br />
incident.<br />
• Provides technical hazardous-materials expertise to all agencies requesting assistance.<br />
• Establishes personal protective protocols and maintains viable atmospheres for investigators dismantling<br />
clandestine drug labs.<br />
• Participates in the state=s Domestic Preparedness Plan used in establishing crime-scene management.<br />
