Criminal Justice<br />
Support Division<br />
The Criminal Justice Support Division (CJSD) at the <strong>Arizona</strong><br />
<strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Safety</strong> is responsible for developing and<br />
coordinating scientific, technical, regulatory and support services<br />
essential to the promotion <strong>of</strong> public safety in <strong>Arizona</strong>. Special<br />
attention is given to providing scientific analysis and criminal<br />
justice support to <strong>Arizona</strong>’s criminal justice agencies. CJSD<br />
further develops, operates and maintains the data processing and data/<br />
voice communications systems that operate statewide.<br />

Criminal Justice Support<br />
Division Chief<br />
• Responds to 9-1-1 and other calls from the public requesting assistance.<br />
• Provides 24-hour dispatch service for the <strong>Department</strong>, other law enforcement personnel and medical<br />
emergency providers.<br />
• Operates communications centers in Flagstaff, Phoenix and Tucson.<br />
• Facilitates the flow <strong>of</strong> information between criminal justice agencies, emergency service agencies<br />
and the public concerning highway safety.<br />
• Provides <strong>Arizona</strong> Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) information to law enforcement<br />
agencies without 24-hour, 7-days a week dispatch capability.<br />
• Operates statewide Emergency Medical Communications (EMSCOM) system in support <strong>of</strong> emergency<br />
medical service providers and departmental helicopters.<br />
• Operates a remote-controlled siren system that warns the public <strong>of</strong> problems with the Palo Verde<br />
Nuclear Generating System.<br />
• Operates the primary state warning system and is responsible for relaying information from the<br />
National Civil Defense warning system.<br />
