Training and Management Services Bureau<br />
Research and Planning<br />
• Researches contemporary criminal justice issues and practices.<br />
• Designs and administers surveys, publishes special reports, and conducts statistical analysis.<br />
• Documents agency policy and practices through development and publication <strong>of</strong> the department’s<br />
directives and procedural manuals.<br />
• Assists with the development <strong>of</strong> and tracking <strong>of</strong> the agency’s Strategic and Operational Plans.<br />
• Provides assistance throughout the agency on research and planning projects and presentations.<br />
• Represents the agency on planning committees and research organizations throughout the criminal<br />
justice community.<br />
• Develops and updates the <strong>Department</strong>’s Business Continuity Plan.<br />
• Develops and maintains the <strong>Department</strong>’s Performance Pay Program.<br />
<strong>Public</strong> Records<br />
• Receives and processes written requests for public record documents.<br />
• Responds to requests for department records.<br />
• Authenticates department records and provides courtroom testimony pursuant to subpoena regarding<br />
agency records.<br />
Training<br />
• Develops and coordinates advanced and re-certification training programs for law enforcement <strong>of</strong>ficers and<br />
for the <strong>Department</strong>’s civilian personnel.<br />
• Provides advanced basic and field training for department <strong>of</strong>ficers.<br />
• Coordinates and provides drug recognition and alcohol impairment training and certification to law<br />
enforcement personnel inside and outside the department.<br />
• Trains law enforcement and civilian instructors.<br />
• Provides firearms training, weapons maintenance and other armory services.<br />
• Develops and coordinates basic and in-service supervisory training.<br />
• Administers the <strong>Department</strong>’s health and wellness programs.<br />
• Develops and coordinates primary and in-service management training.<br />
• Administers the <strong>Department</strong>’s Tuition Reimbursement Program.<br />
• Maintains and manages departmental training records for all employees.<br />
<strong>Safety</strong> and Loss<br />
• Evaluates and processes all the agency risk management claims<br />
• Assures OSHA and EPA compliance<br />
