19. What happens once<br />

I’ve made a referral?<br />

All interviews are booked in less than two weeks ahead. When the<br />

client has attended the interview they are placed on the waitlist if<br />

they are eligible. Then either the client or the agency is contacted<br />

when a vacancy is available for inspection. Clients are asked to<br />

call each week to update their name on the waitlist.<br />

20. Number of Workers YCH employs approximately 60 staff and has offices in Fitzroy and<br />

Footscray.<br />

YCH works closely with agencies which provide support to our<br />

clients. These agencies include Homeground, RDNS, Turning<br />

Point, Clarendon Clinic, plus HACC services.<br />

YCH also has partnerships with Melbourne City Mission, ARBIAS,<br />

Barwon SASHS, Western SASHS, Western Region Health for<br />

particular projects.<br />

YCH is part of a number of networks such as Community Housing<br />

Federation of Victoria, Yarra Drug & Health Forum, Yarra Housing<br />

and Homelessness Network.<br />

23. Disabled Access We have a portable ramp for clients in wheelchairs.<br />

24. Transport We don‟t provide transport. All of our houses are located near<br />

public transport.<br />

Languages<br />

We use the translating service for tenants speaking other<br />

languages.<br />
