Meeting The
Members
Some 30 members and their spouses
turned up for the Meet-the-Committee
Members (MCMN) Night on Tuesday
14 July at the Ficus Ballroom. This
regular get-together allows our new
members opportunity to meet and
mingle with the Club’s General
Committee members as well as our
fellow members. What do our new
members think of the Club and our
efforts to welcome them into the JCC
family?

New Transferable Golfi ng Member
The MCMN is very useful. It feels good that
the committee members take time to come
and meet us new members. It’s a very
worthwhile session, and I get to meet new
members. In fact, I really appreciate the
Management talking about the upcoming
activities, it gives me an orientation on
what’s happening.
Why I joined the Club? Well, actually I’ve
played in Jurong Country Club frequently
with friends who are members, and I was
looking for a golf club, since I already own
a social club. I like the way the course is
managed and marshaled here. There are
no planes going over all the time, and the
management has really shown me some
sincere efforts in the way they manage the
club. It really does seem like the Club has
done their homework on the costing and
planning of the golf course redevelopment,
and I hope that members will support it too
to move the plan forward. With the time
left on our lease, it is really worthwhile to
redevelop the course and add more value
to the club.

I think the MCMN is a good gesture by the
committee to welcome us new members
into the JCC family. It’s really a good
opportunity for us to get a chance to talk
to the committee members one-on-one,
which I may not have opportunity to do
otherwise.
I joined the Club because it’s convenient,
within the vicinity of my home. I also like
the Golfers’ Terrace and the layout of
the golf course, which allows me to play
both day and night. I hope that there will
be more space to expand and develop
the club further, like maybe adding an
additional course in future (laughs). I know
it sounds diffi cult at the moment, but it’s
just an idea. I find it good that the Club’s
constantly trying to improve!

I personally fi nd the MCMN enjoyable.
I joined the Club mainly because it has
night golfi ng and it’s near to my work place
and home. It allows me more opportunity
to play golf (laughs). I really like that the
Club is very friendly, and that the golf
medals are so well organised. I even get
phone call reminders for my slots – well
done! I am frankly looking forward to the
golf course renovation and a chance to
play a nicer course. In fact, my wife is also
just beginning to learn golf and it’s good
that the Club has an executive course,
which allows her to practise on the course,
without any feelings of pressure. It allows
her to play quite easily.
I think the MCM is really helpful in helping
me integrate into Jurong Country Club.
All the committee members are very
kind and sincerely welcome all the new
members. I feel like I truly belong here.
That’s what made me choose Jurong over
other clubs – I am very impressed by how
the committee members treat all the new
members and I want to be a part of it.
On top of that I defi nitely like the location,
its vast size, its great facilities and last
of all its quiet and peaceful atmosphere
that does wonders for me. I love the
restaurants (the Green Banyan) and hope
that the sauna will be available the whole
day for all members, as some members
are missing out on this wonderful treat due
to their busy schedule. I also hope for a
steam-room as this will complement the
sauna and make the Club’s facilities more
complete!
