from itsy bitsy little worms on the green to massive plans<br />
for course redevelopment!<br />

Many may not know that our club employs a horticulturist to assist in the<br />
day to day upkeep of not only the green life on the golf course, but also to<br />
help our course manager in the complexities of golf course management.<br />
And on whose shoulders do these wide-ranging scope of works fall on?<br />
Bubbly Nikkole Ng, graduate of University of Queensland’s Applied Science<br />
programme majoring in Horticulture. We hitched a ride in Nikkole’s buggy to<br />
find out what’s a day like in the life of a JCC Horticulturist!<br />

8.30am Nikkole gets in and does her boring stuff like checking emails…<br />
9.00am Yes! Time to hit the fresh air! Nikkole gets on the buggy for some morning checks<br />
around the golf course to spot early morning problems before heading off to the…<br />
9.30am DAILY MORNING BRIEF! A routine in the schedule of any JCC management staff<br />
– it helps the team get stay communicated and up-to-date with all the admin and<br />
inter-departmental coordinations…<br />
10.00am Nikkole gets back on her checks around the golf course<br />
12.00pm Time for a (heavy) Kit-Kat!<br />
1.00pm Back from lunch and back to the heavy duty – checking emails and getting down to<br />
the paperwork!<br />
2.00pm This girl’s back to the greens for more checks and follow ups! The course is a<br />
never-ending round of work!<br />
5.00pm She’s not flat, I am! Nikkole’s back to the offi ce for fi nal email checks and follow-ups<br />
while I’m running up to the offi ce for some good old air-con!<br />
