HIGHLIGHTS/DISCOVERIES
• Identified one targeted clone (#194) that was
microinjected into the foster female mice by the
gene targeting core facility at the University of
Miami. Six chimeric founders have been obtained.
The laboratory is in the process of
breeding these chimeric mice with wt mouse to
generate heterozygote mutant mice.
• Plan to generate a Tg mouse model to study a
mucin gene function on maintenance of epithelial
tissues including mammary gland, ocular
surface, and reproductive tract among others.
