matrix. In addition, testing and analysis are conducted in <strong>the</strong> Physic and Chemistry Laboratory in order<br />

to determine technical specifications and validate new plastic materials.<br />

Main related relevant activities / projects<br />

ANDALTEC collaborates with <strong>the</strong> majority <strong>of</strong> companies in <strong>the</strong> plastic sector in Andalusia, several<br />

universities and international companies with whom key R&D projects have been carried out. Between<br />

our noteworthy R&D projects :<br />

• TELURIS: Optimization <strong>of</strong> plastic materials through addition <strong>of</strong> nanoclays to polymer- matrix in order<br />

to improve physicochemical properties.<br />

• ECOPLAST. Minimization <strong>of</strong> plastic waste. Substitution <strong>of</strong> metals by bioplastics.<br />

• INJECTION PROCESSES. Injection process simulations prior to mould manufacturing. Advice on<br />

faults with mould design and making <strong>of</strong> proposals for manufacturing improvements.<br />

• OPTIMIZA: Improvement <strong>of</strong> quality and productivity in <strong>the</strong> manufacturing <strong>of</strong> assembled plastic parts.<br />

New working methodologies according to <strong>the</strong> model EFQM.<br />

• MANUFACTURING-PRODUCTIVITY. New techniques oriented to <strong>the</strong> improvement <strong>of</strong> productivity<br />

in plastic pieces, based in a record <strong>of</strong> production incidents.<br />

• JOINTS SIMULATION. Study and definition <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> conditions and interactions between assembled<br />

hybrid (plastic-metal) parts under vibration energy.<br />

• PS ISA: Development <strong>of</strong> technologies associated with <strong>the</strong> lighting with LEDs for car headlight.<br />

• FUSISENS. Plastic screening equipment based on sensorial fusion technologies to automate plastic<br />

recycling (IR, Vis, and o<strong>the</strong>rs).<br />

• SUSFOFLEX: Advanced and flexible technologies for active, intelligent and sustainable food<br />

packaging. (FP7-KBBE 2011-5)<br />

• PMJOIN: Development <strong>of</strong> a Direct Laser Joining <strong>of</strong> hybrid Plastic-Metal components for industrial<br />

applications. (FP7-NMP.2012.2.1.1)<br />
