Cornerstone Baptist Church began in 2005 as a Bible study in the home of Charles and Gwen Brown. In August of
that year, the Brown family began to minister among new Christians and those who had disengaged the church.
Through prayer and discernment, the Bible study grew into a church of 65 members. Cornerstone currently worships
in Snellville, Georgia, in a building purchased in October 2011. Since acquiring a worship space, the church has been
successful in offering activities and discipleship opportunities for adults, youth, and children. Pray that Cornerstone
receives direction as it seeks to hire a minister of families and serve the surrounding community. Pray that church
leaders will serve with a strong sense of commitment, energy, and compassion.
Dawnings is the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s newest initiative for developing and discerning a strategic
lifestyle for your church. This is not a program or a book, however, but a strategic approach to being and doing
church. Dawnings uses the Christian calendar to inform an ongoing vision, to deepen formation, and to move to
engagement. In each church context Dawnings uses congregational leadership and a congregational coach to form
meaningful ministries. Pray for churches that are already moving into this lifestyle and vision. Pray for church
leaders who are guiding this process. Pray that CBF will continue to seek God’s leadership in serving Christians and
