John and Nancy Wade Norwood planted Heights Church in January 2012 in the historic Heights neighborhood of
Houston, Texas. The Heights is a diverse urban neighborhood that is full of life, and Heights Church hopes to reflect
both the diversity and energy of its neighborhood. The mission of the church is to minister holistically to the people
of this community and to be faithful in proclaiming the gospel. Heights Church currently has 45 regular members,
most of whom have never been active in church before. Pray that Heights Church will be able to guide members to

CBF-endorsed chaplain Susan Harthon serves as a pastoral educator in Vidant Medical Center’s Clinical Pastoral
Education program in Greenville, North Carolina. CPE students often bring extensive ministry experience from other
areas of service and are discerning a call to chaplain ministry. Here CPE students expand and enrich their pastoral
care skills, gain the education required to become board-certified chaplains and provide interfaith spiritual care for
patients in crisis as well as families, staff, and the community. The interfaith chapel in which they often work is a
calm, peaceful environment for reflection, prayer, and restoration of body and spirit. Pray for the Clinical Pastoral
