“So if you have been raised with
Christ, seek the things that are
above, where Christ is, seated at
the right hand of God.”
—Colossians 3:1
“Our soul waits for the LORD; he
is our help and shield. Our heart
is glad in him, because we trust in
his holy name. Let your steadfast
love, O LORD, be upon us, even as
we hope in you.”
—Psalm 33:20–22
Missy Ward, one of CBF’s field personnnel, serves as the refugee women’s advocacy coordinator in Kampala,
Uganda, at the Center of Hope. This community center for refugees seeks to share the love of Christ through
community and empower refugees with life skills. As coordinator, she is developing a ministry project that assists
women and girls affected by violence in Kampala based on community advocacy, education, vocational training,
and a temporary shelter. Please pray for safety, healing, and transformation for the hundreds of women and girls in
Kampala who are affected by violence. Pray for Missy as she continues to raise support for her ministry among the
women of Kampala. For more information, visit www.missyinuganda.com.
In 2011, CBF West hosted a block party at Iglesia Bautista Amistad in Douglas, Arizona. The Spanish-speaking
church used this event as an opportunity to connect to its surrounding community. Joseph commented, “This
church has been lonely for the last six months, but today it looked like God was in our hearts.” Pastor Luis said: “We
understand we are not alone in the vision. We understand we are a big family from other places working together.
No matter the language, we are on the same team. When we work together, we can help change people’s lives.” Pray
that God will move in the Douglas community and that residents will be open and receptive to the gospel. Pray for
CBF West as they embrace partnership and continue to create relationships across all boundaries. Visit
