important position regarding playoff in the
rest of the country. If a film does well here,
e.xhibitors from all over the nation give
opportunity to play elsewhere. Chicago is
leader in the film business!" Montoro said
When Women Had Tails" also may open
here, possibh in April. This film is compared
to "One Million Years B.C." in that
both are in the comedy vein. A sequel will
be "When Women Lost Their Tails." Other
a
new movies in the FVI hopper are "Father
Jackleg." with Jack Palance, and "Go for
Broke." with John Ireland. These two features,
also in the comedy category, were
filmed in Italy. In mentioning still another
movie. "The Legend of Blood Castle,"
filmed in Spain, Montoro said he does not
expect to follow trends. He added. "I prefer
to look for vehicles that are commercial and
salable in any given category. JMG Film
Co.. distributing "Rico." is setting up openings
now.

When you need some blooms at
the boxoffice but you don't want
to offend .
New York crime fighters who inspired a
book (and now a film), "The Super Cops,"
were in town to talk about the movie. It
opens April 12 at the Chicago Theatre.
Gordon Parks directed the film for MGM.
It is being released through United Artists
and \}K publicist Wally Heim took Greenberg
and Hantz on a series of press interviews.

Pictures, the following features are
ready for release here through Gilbrcth
Film Co. — "Love in 3-D." a picture on
which Jack Gilbreth and Sidney Kaplan already
are busy setting up May playdates:
"Working Girls." which gives promise of
being one of the biggest exploitation pictures
of the spring season; "Secret Diary of a
Woman Prisoner," which will be aimed at
downtown audiences with a powerful campaign,
and special engagements are being
set up this spring for what is considered an
unusual film, "Truckin"," a feature geared
toward the youth market, which contributed
so much to the success of "Easy Rider."
Precise release plans for these features are
going to be finalized when Woolner makes
his next trip to this city, at which time he
will sit down with major circuit and indepciuk-nt
executives in
this area.
Bill Durante said he is set with brand
new sound equipment for the opening of
.MP's documentary, "Manson," at his Biograph
Theatre, beginning Monday (25). Durante
also has contracted for more extensive
remodeling to completely modernize the
Biograph.
A touring character group in town .Xpril
.? for Buena Vista's "Alice in Wonderland"
will have some excellent exposure by appearing
on such local TV programs as
"Bozo the Clown" and the "Ray Ramer
Show." The promotion will highlight the
openings in area hardtops and drive-ins
starting April 12.

successful screening of "The Golden Voyage
of
Sinbad."
A heavy campaign was held for "Mame,"
which included many press rounds for a
weary Lucille Ball. The film starts its first
run in this area at Ford City, Oak Brook.
River Oaks, Nortown and Deerbrook.
Goldie Hawn is due here to help promote
"The Sugarland Express." in which she costars
with Ben Johnson.
