'Don't Leave Go My Hand'
Has San Antonio Premiere
SAN ANTONIO—"Don't Leave Go My
Hand" was given its world premiere
Wednesday (13) at the Woodlawn Theatre.
The benefit was for the Millie L. Tucker
Shrine Club and was preceded by a cocktail
party attended by the writer-director of the
film Arthur Roberson and the show's star,
Durey Mason.
The movie is based on a play written by
Roberson which was produced in California.
Originally the film was to be produced by
a studio but when that deal fell through,
Roberson decided to produce it himself.
Roberson and Mason raised some funds
for making the film but at present they
are about S240.000 in debt. They are distributing
the film themselves and the premiere
was held here because Roberson's
mother is a San Antonio resident and San
.'Kntonio is rated as a good moviegoing town
and would serve as a gauge for the producers.
Proceeds will go toward building a senior
citizen residential complex and local poverty
programs.
