Land use policy is implemented by means of the <strong>County</strong><br />
Development Plan (incl. Town Development Plans), Local Area Plans,<br />
Village and Sraid Plans. Planning Control involves the processing of<br />
planning applications and the taking of appropriate enforcement<br />
action where necessary.<br />
<strong>County</strong> Development Plan 2009 – 2015<br />
The <strong>Offaly</strong> <strong>County</strong> Development Plan 2009-2015 was formally made<br />
on the 19 th January 2009 and came into effect 4 weeks later, on the<br />
16 th February 2009. The <strong>County</strong> Manager is required to prepare a<br />
report two years after the making of the Development Plan on the<br />
progress achieved in securing the objectives of the Plan.<br />
This report was prepared at the end of <strong>2010</strong> and was presented to<br />
the members in January 2011 and concludes that a variation to the<br />
<strong>County</strong> Development Plan is required to be undertaken in order to<br />
comply with the provisions of the Planning and Development<br />
(Amendment) Act <strong>2010</strong>. This will entail the inclusion of a ‘Core<br />
Strategy’<br />
Tullamore Town & Environs Development Plan <strong>2010</strong> - 2016<br />
The Development Plan for the town of Tullamore for the period <strong>2010</strong><br />
to 2016 was adopted by Members of Tullamore Town <strong>Council</strong> on the<br />
13 th May <strong>2010</strong>. It was jointly adopted by members of Tullamore<br />
Town <strong>Council</strong> and <strong>Offaly</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Council</strong> on the 17 th May <strong>2010</strong> and<br />
came into force on the 14 th June <strong>2010</strong>.<br />
