22nd season<br />
Former <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> standout and NFL player David Hale joins<br />
<strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> this season as a graduate assistant coach. He will<br />
assist on the offensive line as well as help with other duties in the<br />
football program while looking to complete his degree.<br />
Hale, a native of Plain City, Utah and graduate of Fremont High<br />
School, played four seasons of football at <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong>, following<br />
the footsteps of his three older brothers who also all played for<br />
the Wildcats. Hale appeared in 35 career games on the offensive<br />
line for the ‘Cats from 2004-07. He was a two-time Big Sky All-<br />
Conference First Team selection and earned All-American honors<br />
as a senior in 2006 and 2007.<br />
He was selected in the fourth round (133rd overall) of the 2008<br />
NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He appeared in 18 career<br />
games with the Ravens over three seasons.<br />
He married former WSU volleyball player Shelby Walford and the<br />
couple has one son, Henry.<br />
CLINT MCMILLAN<br />
Graduate Assistant Coach<br />
1st season<br />
Clint joined <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> in the summer of <strong>2012</strong> as a Graduate<br />
Assistant Coach.<br />
He played four seasons of football at the <strong>University</strong> of Florida<br />
appearing in 48 career games at defensive tackle with the Gators.<br />
He started in all 13 games as a senior and recorded 23 tackles. In<br />
2006 he was a member of the Gator team that won the BCS National<br />
title under Coach Urban Meyer.<br />
Joel Bass is in his 21st season with <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Athletics</strong>. In<br />
2011 he was elevated to the position of Assistant Athletic Director<br />
for Support Services/Head <strong>Athletics</strong> Trainer.<br />
A certifi ed member of the National Athletic Trainers Association<br />
and a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Utah, Bass has been<br />
an active force in the better treatment of high school, collegiate and<br />
professional athletes.<br />
As a result of his work and dedication, <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> now offers<br />
a four-year degree in Sports Medicine. Bass was the driving force<br />
behind the curriculum, and has been active within the <strong>State</strong> of Utah<br />
in helping high school athletic departments develop athletic training<br />
programs in their schools, and making sure each school has a<br />
certified athletic trainer on staff.<br />
Bass works primarily with the Wildcat football and men’s basketball<br />
teams, but also oversees all administrative responsibilities of<br />
the athletic training program.<br />
Originally from Alvin, Texas, he attended high school in Colorado.<br />
He played football at Ricks College, and then transferred to Utah<br />
<strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> where he earned a B.S. degree in Exercise Science,<br />
and served as an athletic training student.<br />
He received his Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Indiana<br />
<strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> in 1988 and then served as the Assistant Athletic<br />
Trainer at Montana <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> for three years before coming<br />
to Ogden.<br />
He and his wife, Beth, are the parents of a daughter, Melissa, and<br />
a son, Jason. In October 2011 they welcomed their fi rst grandchild<br />
Vincent.<br />
Before coming to <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> he spent the last several years<br />
coaching high school football in Florida.<br />
A native of Haines City, Florida Clint earned a Bachelor’s degree<br />
in Sociology from Florida in 2007.<br />
