David returns for his senior season with the Wildcats and has<br />

established himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the Big Sky<br />

Conference. In two seasons with the Wildcats he has appeared in<br />

22 games and started 17. He has recorded 18 pass breakups with<br />

55 tackles and one interception.<br />

<strong>2012</strong><br />

WILDCATS<br />

2011 (Junior)<br />

Started in all 11 games for the Wildcats during the season...Finished<br />

seventh in the Big Sky in passes defended with eight for an<br />

average of 0.73 per game...Had seven pass breakups and one interception...That<br />

interception was a 75-yard interception return for<br />

a touchdown in WSU’s 49-17 home opening win over Sacramento<br />

<strong>State</strong> on Sept. 17...That interception return ranks as the second<br />

longest in <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> history...Finished ninth on the team in tackles<br />

with 34 with 20 unassisted and 14 assisted tackles.<br />

2010 (Sophomore)<br />

Played in all 11 games for the Wildcats and started in six games<br />

in his fi rst season at WSU....Transferred to <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> from the<br />

<strong>University</strong> of Wyoming...Recorded 21 total tackles on the season<br />

with 10 unassisted and 11 assisted tackles...Had three interceptions<br />

during the season...Recorded interceptions at Boston College,<br />

home against Eastern Washington, and home against Montana...Also<br />

had seven pass break-ups during the season.<br />

2009 (<strong>University</strong> of Wyoming)<br />

Came off a red shirt year to earn a spot on the Cowboy depth<br />

chart and played in several games but did not have stats...Red<br />

shirted the 2008 season at Wyoming.<br />

Edmond Memorial High School<br />

Played free safety, wide receiver and was the kick return specialist<br />

at Edmond Memorial HS...Was a high school teammate to current<br />

WSU teammate Anthony Morales...Had 44 tackles and interception<br />

on defense, caught 29 passes for 432 yards and fi ve touchdowns...<br />

Had 245 return yards and rushed for another 183 yards...Ran a<br />

10.65 100 meter dash time his senior season...Played under Coach<br />

Mark Walker...Was recruited by Iowa <strong>State</strong>, Rice and Tulsa.<br />

Personal<br />

Full name is David James...Was born May 26, 1990...Is majoring in<br />

Technical Sales at <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong>.<br />

DEVONTE JOHNSON<br />

R-Freshman<br />

Denver, CO<br />

Devonte returns for his freshman season after sitting out last<br />

year as a redshirt.<br />

2011<br />

Sat out the season as a red shirt with the Wildcats.<br />

South High School<br />

Graduated from South High School in Denver where he played<br />

for coach Tony Lindsay...Finished his senior year of 2010 with 38<br />

receptions for 803 yards, fi nishing as the third-best receiver in the<br />

state of Colorado...Earned First Team All-Conference and Second<br />

Team All-<strong>State</strong> honors...Also earned high school letters in track and<br />

fi eld and basketball...Averaged 14.3 points, four assists, and 2.3<br />

steals per game in basketball and competed in the state track and<br />

fi eld meet in the relay events.<br />

Personal<br />

Full name is Devonte Johnson...Nickname is Vonte...Was born<br />

January 3, 1993...Plans on majoring in Criminal Justice at <strong>Weber</strong><br />

<strong>State</strong>.<br />
