<strong>Oneida</strong> <strong>Lake</strong> recreational opportunities, keep the lake<br />

Promote education programs <strong>for</strong> adults <strong>and</strong> school students.<br />

Research<br />

Investigate the use <strong>and</strong> importance of tributaries <strong>for</strong><br />

spawning of important fish populations in the lake,<br />

including walleye, gizzard shad, salmon <strong>and</strong> sturgeon.<br />

Identify important spawning areas <strong>and</strong> evaluate the need<br />

<strong>for</strong> habitat protection.<br />

Identify important spawning <strong>and</strong> nursery areas <strong>for</strong> bass in<br />

the lake <strong>and</strong> evaluate the need <strong>for</strong> habitat protection.<br />

Investigate the effects of prolonged clear-water conditions<br />

associated with zebra mussels <strong>and</strong> the subsequent increased<br />

vulnerability of young walleye to predation.<br />

Investigate the impacts of varying water levels on spawning<br />

habitat <strong>and</strong> other requirements of important fish<br />

species using a GIS based approach.<br />

Determine if the bullhead population is declining <strong>and</strong><br />

determine the causes of such a decline.<br />

Investigate the response of walleye <strong>and</strong> yellow perch<br />
