SynchroNet ES/2 User Guide ES/2 Operations Reference Diagnostic Port A second 9 way D-type connector, configured as a RS232-C port, which may be used to check internal functions. ES/2 Operations Reference SynchroNet ES/2 User Guide ES/2 Menu Reference The modes of operation of the ES/2 are set up using the four keys and the front panel LCD. The various menus assign functions to the four softkeys marked 1 to 4 which are next to the LCD screen. The options are organised into six basic categories: Normal Menu Offset Menu Menu Select Menu Generator Menu Local Setup Menu System Menu Within each main menu page there are various sub-menus. In the following pages, each menu is described and illustrated in a standard format which summarises all possible values for each menu. Above and below each representation of the LCD, the diagram shows all of the alternative information which could be displayed for a given field. As each sub-menu is selected, the functions and names of the four keys change. The function of each key is described in the text which accompanies each illustration. MENU Key Some options can be changed only when the ES/2 is OFF BUS and some cannot be altered at all in certain modes. These restrictions and default settings are given in Appendix B. After a power up sequence, the ES/2 screen shows the Normal Display. Pressing the MENU key toggles between the Normal Display and the Menu Select Menu. Within each menu, the four keys next to the LCD are assigned various functions, the current function is always indicated on the display next to the key. When selecting sub-menus, the MENU key returns you to the previous menu. The diagram shown on the previous page illustrates the tree like organisation of the menus, remember, to move back one menu level, press the MENU key and to return directly to the Normal Display, press the MODE key. The settings for each mode of operation are stored in battery backed RAM, so the system will power up in the same mode as set up when last used. MODE Key The MODE key is located on the far right hand side of the unit. When the unit is OFF BUS it toggles between the Normal Display and the Mode Select Menu. The MODE key is also used to return to the Normal Display from any sub-menu. 3:6 Issue 2
