Eight site notices were erected at various locations (including the public places) in the project
area and Figure 4 displays a map with the GPS coordinates and photographs of the public
places and site notices erected at various locations in the project area.
No access or permission was received to use Seritarita High School as a public place and
therefore no documents were placed at this location.
Advertisements in English and Sepedi
Advertisements in English and Sepedi were published in the main body of two newspapers, see
details in Table 7.
Copies of the advertisements are included in Appendix D.

5.2 Involvement of host communities
MPM has an existing community engagement process and plan that guides and manages its
relationship with communities surrounding the mine. These host communities fall within the
jurisdiction of the Mapela and Mokopane Traditional Authorities respectively. Although both
Traditional Authorities were consulted, the host communities in the Mapela Traditional Authority area
were the key focus of stakeholder engagement during the scoping phase as they are the closest to
the proposed project area (i.e. within 10km radius). The map in Figure 5 displays the location of the
host communities within a 10km radius of the project area/mine.
