WITHDRAWAL FROM CLASS<br />

A student may withdraw from a course at<br />

any time before the end of the tenth week of<br />

the semester. If the withdrawal occurs within<br />

the first eight weeks of a semester, the withdrawal<br />

grade will be "W"; thereafter, the<br />

grade will be "WP" or "WF".<br />

Withdrawal forms are to be obtained<br />

from the office of the Registrar and must be<br />

completed by the student, signed by the<br />

instructor, and returned to the Registrar.<br />

Upon withdrawal a student has the right to<br />

ask permission of the instructor to audit the<br />

class.<br />

WITHDRAWAL FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE<br />

COLLEGE<br />

A student may withdraw from the College by<br />

obtaining a withdrawal form from the Dean<br />

of Student Affairs and obtaining all<br />

necessary signatures. Failure to file a withdrawal<br />

form with the Dean will result in the<br />

automatic recording of F grades in all<br />

courses being taken by the student. If a<br />

student is under 18 years of age, written<br />

parental consent must be received.<br />

Refunds are determined by the date of<br />

completion and return of the withdrawal<br />

form.<br />

Activity cards must be returned when<br />

withdrawing from the College.<br />

PRIVACY OF STUDENT RECORDS<br />

The policy and the procedures concerning<br />

the privacy of student records maintained by<br />

New Hampshire College are in large<br />

measure governed by the Federal Family<br />

Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as<br />

amended Except in instances where a<br />

student has given consent to make public<br />

information about himself/herself, all<br />

personally identifiable information in a<br />

student record is considered confidential.<br />

Except in the few instances stated in the<br />

college's policy, no one will have access to a<br />

student's record without the written consent<br />

of tne student concerned. One exception<br />

provides that parents have a right to view<br />

and have copies of materials in their child's<br />

education record without their child's<br />

consent, providing the child is dependent<br />

upon the parents for federal income tax<br />

purposes.<br />

GRADING SYSTEM<br />

In determining grades at the College the<br />

following grade system is used:<br />

The grade point average (GPA) is determined<br />

by dividing the sum of the quality<br />

points (QP) by the sum of the credit hours<br />

(Cr). An example of a student's grades and<br />

grade point average is as follows:<br />

3 Credits X A (4) = 12 QP<br />

English 10<br />

3 Credits X B (3) = 9 QP<br />

MA 10<br />

3 Credits XC (2) = 6 QP<br />

MIS 20<br />

3 Credits X D (1) = 3 QP<br />

History 9<br />

3 Credits X F (0) = 0 QP<br />

15 Credits 30 QP<br />

30 QP DIVIDED BY 15 CR = 2<br />

GRADE POINT AVERAGE IS 2.00
