THE COLLECTION:<br />

1. To keep schools by association,<br />

with those who are associated in the<br />

Society, and who will be associated<br />

in the future, wherever he may be<br />

sent; or to do any other thing at<br />

which he may be employed by his<br />

Superiors.<br />

BRO. IRÉNÉE:<br />

By the vow of association with the<br />

Brothers who are associated to keep<br />

gratuitous schools one engages oneself:<br />

1. To keep schools by association<br />

with the Brothers who have gathered<br />

together for this purpose, wherever<br />

one may be sent.<br />

2. To be employed by the Superiors<br />

in the service of the Brothers who<br />

will be running the said gratuitous<br />

schools, as it is expressed in the formula<br />

of vows.<br />

By the vow of teaching children gratuitously<br />

one engages oneself:<br />

1. To use all the care necessary to<br />

instruct the children well and bring<br />

them up as Christians and to employ<br />

well all the time intended for this<br />

purpose whether in the house or in<br />

the school.<br />

2. Not to demand or receive anything<br />

whatsoever from the pupils or<br />

their parents by way of remuneration<br />

whether as a present or for any<br />

other reason.<br />

3. Not to employ the pupils or their<br />

parents in any work in the hope that<br />

they will do it without asking to be<br />

paid.<br />

4. Not to buy any goods from the<br />

parents of the pupils in the expectation<br />

that they will sell them more<br />

cheaply than to others.
