S&S Cycle's Flathead Power® offerings of Power Kits to hop up or restore vintage engines are the stuff of legend. S&S has offered stroker kits since the early 1960s and the S&S Sidewinder kits, the first
practical and reasonably priced big bore/stroker kit for shovels were introduced in 1976. It's easy for your iron-cylinder motor to keep up with modern day traffic with a Flathead Power kit from S&S.
Sidewinder® Big Bore Kits For 1966-'84 Big Twins
Sidewinder big bore/stroker kits are available in displacements from 88" to 103". The 35/8" bore cylinders are coupled with strokes from
41/4" to 5" to yield the various displacements (See page 5-3). The most popular and highly recommended Sidewinder Kit is the 93" (35/8"
Stock Bore Stroker Kits For 1936-'84 Big Twins and Ironhead Sportster®
Stock bore stroker kits were the original solution to attaining more cubic inches back in the day. They are still popular today because
of they produce good power for less money. Stock bore strokers reuse most of the components of the stock engine, and don't require
expensive crankcase machining so installation is also economical. Stroker kits are available for knuckles, pans, and shovels in 84" to 88"
displacement. By far the 84" stroker is the most popular and is available as a Hot Set Up Kit. The Hot Set Up Kit comes with cam, carb
pushrods, and valve springs that will allow you to take full advantage of the displacement increase (See page 5-4). There is a 74" stroker
for Ironhead Sportster that has been a favorite since the 1970s (See page 5-5). Order the basic kit or configure your own Hot Set Up Kit
with the CTO number.
