S&S ®<br />
Stock Bore Stroker Kits<br />
for 1971-’85 Harley-Davidson ® Ironhead Sportster ®<br />
S&S stock bore strokers for 1000cc Harley-Davidson® Ironhead Sportster® models are an effective and<br />
economical performance upgrade. The 74" kit includes a 45⁄8" stroke flywheel assembly, and special<br />
forged stroker pistons. Specify the required oversize to fit your stock cylinders. Cylinders and most<br />
other stock engine components can be re-used. These kits are available only for 1000cc engines with<br />
33⁄16" bore cylinders. Stroker pistons are available in most standard oversizes. Cylinders for ironhead<br />
Sportster models are not available from S&S.<br />

NOTES<br />
For the best performance, an S&S carburetor, performance<br />
cams, and performance exhaust are recommended.<br />
Do to the increased displacement and compression, cams<br />
with longer duration are recommended for easier starting.<br />
If replacing the pistons in a older 77" stroker engine, stroker<br />
plates are required, and all clearances must be checked.<br />
S&S offers machine shop services through the S&S Service<br />
and Speed Center. New pistons can be fit to your existing<br />
cylinders for a reasonable charge. See Section 10: Dealer<br />
Services, page 10-6.<br />
