Barangay Bunot is a rural community about ten kilometers (10km) from the<br />
town proper of the Municipality of Indanan.<br />

of income. A small percentage (5%) of survey respondents have small<br />
businesses such as sari-sari stores and peddling of homemade goods<br />
like sweets and rice cakes. There seems to be very little access to capital<br />
(82% answered that there was no access to capital) and other <strong>for</strong>ms of<br />
livelihood (68% saw no other means of livelihood available to them).<br />
The Barangay lacks basic services. While a health center exists, it’s no<br />
longer being used. The Bunot Elementary School is the only available<br />
<strong>for</strong>mal school that is present in the barangay. Nonetheless, there are<br />
other educational institutions that are accessible by foot to the residents<br />
of Barangay Bunot. The nearest are about 3 to 4 kilometers away. Only<br />
thirty two percent (32%) of the respondents have had <strong>for</strong>mal elementary<br />
schooling, 25% had high school education, 12% college. (See Table 3)<br />
