femmesh defines the up-side and down-side of the boundary element. For a 1D boundary element, the normal points to the left, considering the direction of the boundary element. For a 2D boundary element, the normal is defined as the cross product of the vector going from the first to the second element corner and the vector going from the first to the third element corner. The properties p and el can be accessed using the syntax get(object,property). The (local) numbering of the corners of an element is defined according to the following.
