If the solver fails to find a complete solution, it returns a partial solution if the property Stop is on (this is the default). You can use the property Symmetric to tell the solver that the model is symmetric or you can use the automatic feature to find out. The symmetry detection tolerance Symmtol is used for this automatic feature (see “Which Problems are Symmetric” on page 373 in the <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics User’s Guide). If the model is Hermitian, you should set both the Symmetric and Conjugate properties to on. 149
