Purpose<br />

Start the <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics graphical user interface or a <strong>COMSOL</strong><br />

Multiphysics server.<br />

comsol server<br />

comsol starts the <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics graphical user interface from the<br />

<strong>COMSOL</strong> Script command prompt or from <strong>COMSOL</strong> Script or MATLAB.<br />

comsol server starts a <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics server within the <strong>COMSOL</strong> Script<br />

or MATLAB process. You can connect to the <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics server from<br />

a <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics client. The <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics client must be started<br />

outside <strong>COMSOL</strong> Script or MATLAB.<br />

There is also a comsol command available on the command prompt in Windows,<br />

UNIX/Linux, and Mac. Using the <strong>COMSOL</strong> command you can start <strong>COMSOL</strong><br />

Multiphysics running stand alone. You can also start a <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics<br />

client for connecting to a <strong>COMSOL</strong> Multiphysics server. The options to this<br />

command are listed in the Installation Guide.<br />
