The following factors are important when selecting a suitable cable construction which is required to transport<br />
electrical energy from the power station to the consumer:<br />
Maximum operating voltage<br />
Insulation level<br />
Frequency<br />
Load to be carried<br />
Magnitude and duration of possible load<br />
Mode of installation, either underground or in air<br />
Chemical and physical properties of soil<br />
Maximum and minimum ambient air temperature and soil temperature<br />
Specification and requirements to be met<br />
Standards<br />
The cables described in this catalogue are all standard types, and their performance has been proved in operation.<br />
Construction and tests are in accordance with the recommendations of IEC or BS publications where applicable. <strong>Power</strong><br />
cables in accordance with other standards (VDE, NEMA or ICEA) can be manufactured upon a customer's request.<br />
Weights and Dimensions<br />
Weights and dimensions characteristics are approximate and any deviations are due to manufacturing tolerance.<br />
Jacket Marking<br />
Standard embossed outer jacket marking consisting of:<br />
1. Name of manufacturer<br />
2. Type designation, size of conductor, rated voltage<br />
3. "ELECTRIC CABLE"<br />
4. Year of manufacture<br />
5. Continuous length marking every meter<br />
6. Any special part number, on request<br />
