Driver’s License<br />

The driver’s license registration and history <strong>information</strong> on all persons licensed to<br />

operate a vehicle is accessed through this file.<br />

Driver’s History requests for personal use or private/public employment must be<br />

referred to <strong>the</strong> Department of Driver Services (DDS).<br />

Local fire department and law enforcement agencies may use <strong>the</strong> GCIC CJIS<br />

network to obtain an individual’s Georgia driver’s history record as part of an<br />

application for employment or for use relative to <strong>the</strong> performance of an employee’s<br />

official duties.<br />

HIT CONFIRMATION<br />

The purpose of <strong>the</strong> hit confirmation process is to determine if <strong>the</strong> record in <strong>the</strong> hit<br />

response is current and valid and to alert <strong>the</strong> originating agency to <strong>the</strong> location of<br />

<strong>the</strong> person or property described in <strong>the</strong> GCIC/NCIC record. Hit confirmation<br />

requests and responses must be included with <strong>the</strong> record entry documentation.<br />

NDPIX<br />

The National Drug Pointer Index (NDPIX) is a nationwide, multi-jurisdictional<br />

automated <strong>information</strong> sharing system. A fully automated pointer <strong>information</strong><br />

system, NDPIX provides participating state, local and federal law enforcement<br />

agencies <strong>the</strong> capability to determine if a current drug investigative suspect is<br />

under active investigation by any o<strong>the</strong>r participating agency.<br />

NICB<br />

The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) is a <strong>crime</strong> prevention organization<br />

assisting law enforcement in <strong>the</strong> prevention, detection, and prosecution of <strong>the</strong><br />

financial <strong>crime</strong>s of <strong>the</strong>ft, fraud, and arson relating to personal property.<br />

NICB maintains area offices in Des Plaines, Illinois; Irving, Texas; Melville, New<br />

York; Fife, Washington; Tampa, Florida; Fairfax, Virginia; Dublin, Ohio;<br />

We<strong>the</strong>rsfield, Connecticut; and Glendora, California. The Des Plaines office is<br />

open from 7:00 a.m. – Midnight (Monday through Friday). If <strong>the</strong>re is an<br />

emergency, a representative is on call for after hours, holidays and weekends.<br />
