Promote business development by facilitating more foreign investment, in parallel increasing the
competitiveness of Latvian entrepreneurs in both domestic and foreign markets.
o Thematic and geographical focus
EU-Programmes
IDAL is responsible for administration of several EU Structural Funds programmes’ projects.
All of them are directed towards support of business activities. These projects among others include:
- development of new products and technologies;
- investments in micro-, small and medium businesses in territories requiring special support;
- creation of competency centres in Latvia;
- creation of regional business incubators in Latvia;
- creation of technology transfer offices;
- acquisition of external markets – participation in international fairs and trade missions;
IDAL operates within Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), providing information about European
Union policies, legislation, regulations, trade system, and assists in seeking of business partners
within the EEN network in 44 countries in the world.
IDAL is also involved in the implementation of national programmes on export and innovation
promotion and participates in EU 7th Framework Programmes' projects. In addition IDAL is a
partner in several Baltic Sea Region programmes’ projects.

Main Activities (Seminars, Newsletter, Conferences, other…)
Investment Facilitation. Assistance in investment location selection and implementation of investment
projects:
Provision of all relevant information on business opportunities and investment incentives.
Identification of the best real estate options for manufacturing facilities, offices and land.
Assistance in establishing and developing contacts with Latvian business partners.
Legal assistance with start-up procedures.
Suppliers' Searches. Assistance in finding appropriate Latvian suppliers and in increasing their
competitiveness:
Provision of information on Latvian exporting companies, export products and services
Search of Latvian suppliers according to buyers' requests.
Distribution of incoming business proposals to Latvian companies directly and through the
Internet.
Organisation of trade seminars and foreign trade missions to Latvia.
Consultancy and foreign market studies for Latvian enterprises.
