Added new art courses (Digital Photography‐ART 175‐275 and Directed Readings in Art‐ART 293)<br />
to the curriculum<br />
Offered a new theatre course (Voice and Speech for the Performer‐THR 241)<br />
Offered Music Appreciation (MUS101) to dually enrolled students at a high school site<br />
Created a state‐of‐the‐art digital art studio, unequaled in the area, with the acquisition of new<br />
computers and software for digital <strong>photo</strong>graphy, graphic design, and computer graphics<br />
Displayed student art in both the Cherry Hall gallery area and the Cunningham Hall gallery area<br />
Sponsored the <strong>Wallace</strong> Sound and <strong>Wallace</strong> Chorus in performances at a variety of venues<br />
including counselors workshops, a benefit concert in Kinsey, Alabama, Covenant United<br />
Methodist Church, Troy University, Dothan Rotary Christmas Luncheon, The Lost Carols – a<br />
benefit for the Wiregrass Children’s Home, the Alabama Tourism Board, a workshop with<br />
Huntingdon <strong>College</strong>, and the African‐American History Month celebration<br />
Presented concerts during both fall (Deck the Rooftop) and spring (Warped) terms featuring the<br />
<strong>Wallace</strong> Sound and the <strong>Wallace</strong> Chorus<br />
Celebrated WCC’s 40 th season of theatre<br />
• Collaborated with art faculty to host a student poster contest (Our Town theme),<br />
naming 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd place student winners<br />
• Presented theatre productions of Our Town in fall 2011 and Hairspray in spring 2012<br />
including Wednesday morning matinee theatre performances for area high school<br />
students<br />
• Collaborated with music faculty to present the culminating event of the celebration, the<br />
musical Hairspray (WCC’s first in more than 20 years) to approximately 1,000 patrons<br />
over its 3 night run<br />
Facilitated the acceptance of art majors to four‐year universities and art colleges, including<br />
Savannah <strong>College</strong> of Art & Design, <strong>Full</strong> Sail University, Troy State University, and Auburn<br />
University<br />
Facilitated the acceptance and transfer of 9 music majors to four‐year institutions including<br />
Huntingdon <strong>College</strong>, Birmingham‐Southern <strong>College</strong>, Auburn University, and Troy University.<br />
Set up a student art portfolio review at the Wiregrass Museum of Art that allowed students to<br />
display their portfolios to an admission representative from Savannah <strong>College</strong> of Art & Design<br />
and to gain tips for constructing a portfolio for scholarships/applications to any university<br />
Increased piano, theatre and <strong>Wallace</strong> Sound scholarships<br />
Exhibited faculty artwork at galleries in Oregon, Vermont, Georgia, and Alabama (Jessica<br />
Raetzke)<br />
Art faculty member conducted guest artist’s lectures at McNeese State University in Lake<br />
Charles, Louisiana (Jessica Raetzke)<br />
Sponsored adjunct instructor, Andrew Stroud, in a classical guitar performance<br />
Raised approximately $4,000.00 to benefit the Wiregrass Children’s Home from the <strong>Wallace</strong><br />
Sound’s spring 2012 performance of Warped<br />
Theatre students and faculty designed and constructed the National Peanut Festival booth for<br />
the <strong>Wallace</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> Display<br />
Enhanced student life with activities of the Theatre Club (Savannah Granberry ‐ faculty sponsor)<br />
• Students served as volunteer ushers for S.E.A.C.T.’s fall theatre production<br />

• Students worked with the public relations department to assist in college publicity<br />
