Departments share a joint graduate recruitment<br />

The Department of State Development<br />

provides leadership across Government to<br />

drive responsible development for Western<br />

Australia’s future. Working closely with industry,<br />

communities and Government agencies the<br />

department delivers significant State initiatives<br />

and supports major resource, industrial and<br />

infrastructure projects.<br />

Department of Regional Development and Lands<br />

The Department of Regional Development<br />

and Lands manages Western Australia’s State<br />

Lands and pastoral estate, and facilitates the<br />

development of regional communities. We are<br />

uniquely placed to do so, with funding from<br />

Royalties for Regions supporting economic and<br />

community development projects throughout<br />

regional Western Australia, and responsibility<br />

for 93 per cent of the State’s lands.<br />

Our Graduate Program is exciting and unique!<br />

It involves three lead Western Australian<br />

Government departments working together<br />

to offer opportunities to help develop the<br />

professional skills and knowledge of graduates.<br />

What We Look For In Applications<br />

The departments seek graduates with a<br />

wide range of professional and technical<br />

qualifications, and are particularly interested in<br />

employing recent university graduates who can:<br />

• Use appropriate techniques to research.<br />

• Use a range of techniques and initiatives<br />

to identify and resolve problems.<br />

• Work collaboratively to resolve issues.<br />

• Draft a range of written documents.<br />

• Communicate clearly and effectively,<br />

including within a small team environment.<br />

How To Apply<br />

Applications for the Graduate Program open at<br />

the start of second semester each year. During<br />

this time applications can be submitted using<br />

our simple online application system accessible<br />

via each Department’s website.<br />

Your suitability for interview will be assessed<br />

from your written application and your<br />

Curriculum Vitae (CV). If you are shortlisted,<br />

the process includes an interview and referee<br />

checks. Some positions may also require<br />

completion of a National Police Clearance and/<br />

or Pre-Employment Medical Check.<br />
