and the Department of Treasury. Both
Departments share a joint graduate recruitment
program to discover tomorrow’s leaders who will
work at the forefront of economic and financial
management.

Department of State Development
The Department of State Development
provides leadership across Government to
drive responsible development for Western
Australia’s future. Working closely with industry,
communities and Government agencies the
department delivers significant State initiatives
and supports major resource, industrial and
infrastructure projects.
Department of Regional Development and Lands
The Department of Regional Development
and Lands manages Western Australia’s State
Lands and pastoral estate, and facilitates the
development of regional communities. We are
uniquely placed to do so, with funding from
Royalties for Regions supporting economic and
community development projects throughout
regional Western Australia, and responsibility
for 93 per cent of the State’s lands.
Our Graduate Program is exciting and unique!
It involves three lead Western Australian
Government departments working together
to offer opportunities to help develop the
professional skills and knowledge of graduates.
What We Look For In Applications
The departments seek graduates with a
wide range of professional and technical
qualifications, and are particularly interested in
employing recent university graduates who can:
• Use appropriate techniques to research.
• Use a range of techniques and initiatives
to identify and resolve problems.
• Work collaboratively to resolve issues.
• Draft a range of written documents.
• Communicate clearly and effectively,
including within a small team environment.
How To Apply
Applications for the Graduate Program open at
the start of second semester each year. During
this time applications can be submitted using
our simple online application system accessible
via each Department’s website.
Your suitability for interview will be assessed
from your written application and your
Curriculum Vitae (CV). If you are shortlisted,
the process includes an interview and referee
checks. Some positions may also require
completion of a National Police Clearance and/
or Pre-Employment Medical Check.
