Most of these words, as we saw, can be found in a context of a end time-purification-process! The main
idea from all this words is sure the idea of getting pure, clean, holy, justified, reconciled, and restored.
This idea corresponds quite well to what the bible says about getting free from sin in general. Sin always is
a factor of defilement, while the blood of Jesus cleans and makes pure and holy. The sinner has to get clean
and holy as God is clean, pure and holy. In doing that in behalf of sinners, God justifies himself in the
purified and justified people! (Ez. 36, 23)
All this is the work that the New Testament defines by justification, sanctification and finally by
glorification. But the way, how to get there is by faith in Jesus, and by getting refined, tested, examined,
and tried through suffering and temptations.
It is the divine work in cooperation with the sinner, to bring man back, where he was in the beginning: The
perfect image of God. So this purification process has finally to do with a work of restoration, or
restitution!
Evidently the apostle Peter spoke of that restitution, when he preached about Christ, “whom the heaven
must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy
prophets since the world began.
This text does not say, that Jesus would come to restitute all things, but he would come, when all things are
restituted! So a great work of restitution has to be accomplished before he could come.
Here we have another idea, which I think we should still mention in connection to the cleansing or
justification of the sanctuary.
