Note: If the Wave Selection is the same in both the latitudinal and
longitudinal directions, the combined wave pattern is a diagonal
line where x = y. In order to create a more useful pattern
when the Wave Selection and the Frequency properties are
equal, the program offsets the longitudinal waveform by 90
degrees.
Create an Arbitrary Pattern
In addition to the four Standard waveforms, the SS64 provides the
capability to draw or import a random or Arbitrary wave pattern.
To create an Arbitrary wave pattern:
1. From the File menu, select New. The Recipe screen displays.
2. Enter the SS64 Position.
3. Enter a Name, if desired.
4. From the Wave Selection (Latitude) list box, select Arbitrary.
The Wave Selection (Longitude) list box and the Amplitude and
Frequency fields become unavailable. The Draw Pattern radio
button on the Wave Pattern Simulation grid is selected.
5. Using the mouse, draw a pattern on the Wave Pattern Simulation
grid. If you wish, you may edit the pattern.
6. Select Redraw to set the (x, y) points that define the pattern.
7. Adjust the following properties as desired:
• amplitude
• frequency
• position
• emission current
• position limits
8. Select Redraw after editing to effect the changes.
