What has been said and written about Bournemouth over its 200 year history? Come and
find out at a talk given by John Walker, an official Bournemouth guide. Admission is free;
donations are requested from non-Society members. The evening runs from 7.30 - 9pm and
is held at the centre, found at 39 Christchurch Road.

The Boscombe Spa Arts Trail is being held at BAC-CUS Gallery Royal Arcade on 10 June from
2pm – 3pm. There will be three Bicentenary authors present who will be available for book
signings. Professor Vince May (Smugglers to Surfers), John Walker (A Bicentenary Celebration)
and Jackie Edwards (A Bed by the Sea) will be attending with copies of their books.

The 2010 Ballroom of Illusion
Come with us on an incredible journey of fantasy and discover a surreal world of sumptuous
costume in the Ballroom of Illusion. The Arts University College at Bournemouth presents a
unique and thrilling experience for adults and children alike. You will embark upon a
journey through the Costume Maze, see Count Dracula in his lair and then follow the White
Rabbit to Wonderland where Alice is waiting. Finally we’ll take you back in time to 1912
where you’ll visit an Ocean liner they thought was unsinkable…
Students from the college’s Acting, Costume, Make-up and Events Management courses
have worked together to create this unmissable event to be staged in the historic and
atmospheric Pavilion Ballroom, with it’s unsurpassable views of the sea.
