Marine Wildlife at Boscombe
In association with Bournemouth University’s School of Applied Sciences, Boscombe
Seafront will play host to “Marine Wildlife at Boscombe” from 26 th to 27 th October, 10am –
4pm.
A two day event, there will be activities on the pier; exhibitions in the surf pods; talks,
quizzes and film footage of the reef in the Urban Reef restaurant, all offering the chance
to learn about the marine life found in Poole Bay and on the surf reef.
This event is being organised by a partnership led by Bournemouth University which is
investigating the biological colonization of the newly constructed Boscombe Surf Reef, in
Poole Bay near Bournemouth. Partner organizations include Inspieration and BARG
(Boscombe Area Regeneration Group).

In May 1816 Mary and Percy Shelley travelled to Lake Geneva to stay with
the infamous Lord Byron. It was here; late at night by candlelight that
Mary discussed her fascination of the medical experiments of the 18th
century. Prompted by her imagination, Byron forms a challenge- for Mary
to create a supernatural story entirely of her own…
The Dorset Corset Theatre Company bring their own unique style of
theatrical magic, live music and drama to this fantastic tale! The Shelley
Manor Theatre, Boscombe, will host this production for four nights in
October 2010. This is your opportunity to see a theatre production in the
very theatre that was built for the Shelley Family back in the 1800’s.
Tickets are £15 per person on Weds 27 th and Thurs 28 th and £20 per person
on Fri 29 th and Sat 30 th .
