News from the Nurse
The Informer
Welcome to all the new families and
thank you for returning the medical
forms so promptly. Please call or e-mail
any questions you have about our health
program, details can be found in the parent
handbooks.
We will start the year with 1st grade
screening. All parents will be contacted
and more information given. Letters
will be posted to you week beginning
Monday September 5th.
TEACHERS should be aware of the problem
and know what to do if ever an
emergency should occur.
MEDICATION to treat severe allergies
is kept in the nurses’ office.

Any medical concerns are shared with
your child’s teacher. This way we can
prevent and or treat medical conditions
here at school.
All medications should be kept in my
office and the students who need to take
tablets/mixture will visit my office to do
this.
Severe food allergies are suffered by a
high percentage of our students, the
most common being milk, seafood,
peanuts, strawberries and kiwi fruit.
We have a few simple rules for the classroom
and the cafeteria:
NO sharing of food. This applies to the
classroom as well as the cafeteria.
PARENTS making birthday treats should
always ask the teacher about special
concerns and the student with the allergy
have his/her party bag sent in.
