The sedilia,or seats for the <strong>of</strong>ficiating ministers<br />

on<br />

the east side <strong>of</strong> the altar,are frequentlythe most ornamental<br />

feature in the choir <strong>of</strong> a parish church; as<br />

at Chesterton,Oxon, in which they are very elegant,<br />

with lightshafts and the ball-flower molding. These,<br />

with the piscinas, are frequently the only ornamental<br />

features in a country church, which is in other respects<br />

quiteplain ; the name Decorated is sometimes objected<br />

to on this ground, but the name has specialreference to
