Due to the special nature of these products, Eurotubi does not keep stocks and only accepts orders of a
considerable numeric quantity.
The special process used to make the pressfittings can be broken down into the following main stages:
- cutting the pipe into sections and mechanical working;
- forming of the o-ring seat;
- any welding of other parts of the fitting.
All the processes are controlled through the operating methods pursuant to standard UNI EN ISO 9001-2008
and are subject to the audits set by the Authority RINA, which approved them for the naval sector.
7.2 Pipe work
Pipes used in main systems are made of cupronickel (copper-nickel alloy) n. 2.1972 according to standard
DIN 86019. Generally they are sold in 6 metre lengths and in consideration of the special characteristics of
the material they are handled in boxes or with special attention.
The pipes provided directly by Eurotubi are marked with the “Eurotubi” or “EU” marking, unless in case of the
customer’s specific request.
If of the commercially available type, subject to consultation with Eurotubi Technical Department, the pipes
must respect the required characteristics and report in a permanent manner data providing details on the
manufacturer and the production batch.

7.3 Application in the naval sector
The cupronickel Eurotubi Pressfitting System is the ideal solution to create systems to be used in sea water.
In addition the quality and reliability of its components make it suitable and potentially certifiable also for the
distribution of other fluids such as drinking water for sanitary systems (subject to approval) and compressed
air.
The o-ring seals, made of black EPDM, are resistant to aging, heat and all types of water including salt and
treated water.

- Minimum temperature: -20 °C
- Maximum temperature: 120 °C
Certification
For naval use, the Eurotubi pressfittings have been certified as conforming to Standard R.I.N.A “Type
Approval of Mechanical Joints for Pipes and IACS Unified Requirement n. P2”.
