Miguela M. Mena is currently an Associate Professor at the<br />

University of the Philippines Asian Institute of <strong>Tourism</strong>, and<br />

a Visiting Associate Professor/C<strong>on</strong>sultant at the Maejo University<br />

School of <strong>Tourism</strong> Development in Chiang Mai, Thailand.<br />

She obtained her PhD in <strong>Tourism</strong> Management at the H<strong>on</strong>g K<strong>on</strong>g<br />

Polytechnic University School of Hotel and <strong>Tourism</strong> Management.<br />

Her main research interests focus <strong>on</strong> internati<strong>on</strong>al tourism in<br />

developing countries, destinati<strong>on</strong> competitiveness, destinati<strong>on</strong><br />

policy and planning, destinati<strong>on</strong> management and marketing,<br />

tourism entreprenuership, measurement of domestic tourism, and<br />

informati<strong>on</strong> communicati<strong>on</strong> technology applicati<strong>on</strong>s in tourism.<br />
