SEAMEO-<strong>SPAFA</strong> is <strong>on</strong>e of the centres established by SEAMEO<br />
(Southeast Asian Ministers of Educati<strong>on</strong> Organisati<strong>on</strong>). It is a regi<strong>on</strong>al<br />
centre c<strong>on</strong>stituted in 1985 from the SEAMEO Project for<br />
Archaeology and Fine Arts (<strong>SPAFA</strong>). <strong>SPAFA</strong> promotes awareness,<br />
appreciati<strong>on</strong> and wise use of the cultural heritage of Southeast<br />
Asian countries through the disciplinary fields of archaeology,<br />
museology, visual and performing arts, and cultural resource<br />
management, including heritage tourism. <strong>SPAFA</strong>’s membercountries<br />
include Brunei, Cambodia, Ind<strong>on</strong>esia, Lao PDR,<br />
Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam,<br />
and Timor Leste; Associate member-countries are Australia,<br />
Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway<br />
and Spain.
