V. Anand Pillai has been a professi<strong>on</strong>al in the technical<br />
arts and entertainment industry for close to 15 years. He has<br />
worked in the Esplanade – Theatres <strong>on</strong> the Bay in Singapore<br />
and also in Singapore’s first independent c<strong>on</strong>temporary arts<br />
centre, The Substati<strong>on</strong> – Home for the Arts. Anand founded<br />
the Technical Theatre Development Centre, and is currently<br />
organising Southeast Asia’s first Technical Theatre Symposium.<br />
He took part in the 7 th Bangkok Fringe Arts Festival (2005),<br />
and Bangkok Opera’s producti<strong>on</strong> of Die Walkure (2007), and is<br />
both an avid researcher <strong>on</strong> the history and collector of antiques<br />
related to His Majesty King Chulal<strong>on</strong>gkorn The Great.<br />
