A Lobbyist/Director <strong>of</strong> the HumaneSociety <strong>of</strong> the United States (HSUS) has stated that the HSUS intends to "come backin subsequent years to lower those numbers (20 dogs/3 litters)". Every Democrat inthe Oregon State Legislature voted for this bill.HB2986- A BILL FOR AN ACT Relating to the inbreeding <strong>of</strong> dogs. Prohibits inbreeding <strong>of</strong> dogs by breeder. Makes first violation subject to maximum fine <strong>of</strong> $360. Makes second orsubsequent violation subject to maximum fine <strong>of</strong> $720. Requires breeder to keep records showing parentage and grandparentage <strong>of</strong> dogs and puppies.
